Few foods occupy the same delicious and debated status as a classic Philly Cheesesteak.
Legend has it that the dish dates back to 1930 when a hot dog vendor named Pat Olivieri threw shredded beef and a mix of onions & peppers on the grill and made himself a sandwich.
A passing cab driver asked for one too and boom, the Philly Cheesesteak was born. Today it’s one of the most popular sandwiches on the planet and has foodies flocking to Philadelphia to get their hands on one.
Now a clever internet user has taken the delicious fundamentals that make up the Philly Cheesesteak and utilized them in a totally new, crowd-pleasing pizza star recipe that has us all salivating.

If you’d like to recreate this beautiful recipe at home here’s what you’ll need:
- 1 Sirloin or Ribeye Steak, thinly sliced
- 1 Green Pepper, sliced
- 1Yellow Onion, sliced
- 1 pre-rolled Pizza Dough
- 1 block Pizza Mozzarella, sliced
- 1 Egg, beaten
- 1 tbsp English Mustard
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- 2 tbsp Salted Butter
- 200g All-Purpose Flour
- 400ml Full-Fat Milk
- 100g Cheddar Cheese, grated
