Salt Bae Got The Saturday Night Live Treatment — But The Sketch Was Cut For Time

After cooking steak for the likes of Conor McGregor, starring in DJ Khaled music videos, and opening up fancy steakhouses across the globe you’d be forgiven for thinking that Salt Bae had reached peak superstardom… you’d be wrong.

The latest adventure in the seductive-salting story of a certain Turkish butcher is arguably his most glitzy.

Bae popped up in this weekend’s Saturday Night Live, hosted by British actor Daniel Kaluuya (who’s been cleaning up during award season for his remarkable portrayal of Black Panther leader Fred Hampton in Judas And The Black Messiah).

In the sketch which you can watch below, Kaluuya, Cecily Strong, Mikey Day, and Ego Nwodim sit down for meal at Bae’s chain of Nurs_et steakhouses. The ladies are overjoyed when they realize Bae is in the building and he proceeds to seductively prepare tomahawk steak for the table.

Things gradually get weirder and weirder from there and Kaluuya isn’t sure what to make of Bae’s style claiming he’s giving off “magician energy”.

To make matters even more bizarre, David Beckham and his wife Victoria are sitting at a nearby table watching the drama unfold.

You can see the clip in full below:

The sketch was actually cut for time meaning it wasn’t deemed strong enough to air on the actual televised SNL.

Thankfully SNL makes posts their cut-for-time sketches on YouTube so we can all appreciate this latest chapter in the eye-catching rise of Salt Bae.
