Wagyu beef really is the best of the best. If you want to splash out for a special occasion or if you are an expert in meat, wagyu is the choice to make.
In particular, A5 wagyu is considered one of the priciest meats around due to the grading it has from yield and quality. ‘A’ is the highest yield grade available which means the amount of beef obtained from the cattle whilst ‘5’ is the highest quality grade in terms of marbling and texture. This means a mouthful of A5 wagyu will likely melt away on your tongue with the most incredible flavor.

Whilst one would assume this meat can only be consumed at top restaurants, it has surprisingly been found selling on the Costco website! Available A5 cuts include New York Strips, Filet Mignons and whole tenderloins but what with Costco selling in bulk, they come in fairly weighty proportions. The smallest filet mignon weighs 2lbs and costs an eye watering $430!
Just because the cuts are on Costco, does not mean they aren’t quality. The meat has been imported from Japan and is USDA approved. So the next time you want to treat yourself, look no further than the local Costco!
