Burger lovers are getting a taste of a legendary Colombian drug kingpin at a restaurant named Pablo’s
At the peak of his powers, it’s thought that Escobar’s cartel was responsible for an insane 80% of all the blow smuggled into the United States. It’s believed that his turnover hit over $20 billion a year during this period. Those kind of numbers explain why he’s still such a significant figure in 2019.
So much so that an Australian restaurant is in serious hot-water for serving a burger in his honor. Although they’re not the first to honor the late-Pablo Escobar, they’ve certainly taken things farther.
See for yourself in the picture below:
The picture above is “The Patron Burger”. It’s served with a line of white garlic powder on top of the bun with a rolled up fake $100 bill jutting out of it, and also comes with a plastic baggie of more blow plus a coke spoon.
As with just about everything else on the internet in 2019, news of this burger has outraged a lot of people.
One person commented on the restaurant’s Facebook page: “Glorifying drug addiction and joking about it through your presentation methods is really stupid and insensitive.”
“You are so naive. I hope you one day actually talk to a Colombian and realize how offensive your restaurant is,” another user wrote.
Pablo’s decided to meet their critics head-on and responded through their official Facebook page:
“Lovers love our burgers and haters are always going to hate! Not all Colombians are going to love our name but they all love our burgers.”
So there you have it. Would you try this burger or did they go a bit too far? Let us know in the comments.
