Unless you’ve been living under a mountain for the last seven-years there’s a good chance you’ve been caught up in the phenomenon that is Game of Thrones. A huge 16.7 million people tuned in to watch the last episode of series seven in 2017, and that number is likely to be shattered when the final series drops in April 2019.
If you’re a fan of the show, you’ll definitely know about Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (“Thor” for short), who plays Gregor “The Mountain” Clegane.
At 6ft 9in (2.06 metres) and 180kg, and with the strength to deadlift almost 1,000lbs, Thor is truly a man mountain. In order to maintain his incredible size and muscle tone, Thor sticks to a giant diet that features 12,000 calories per day. For context, the recommend amount of calories for a male to consume per day is 2,000.
12,000 calories a day is enough to give Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Transformers star Mark Wahlberg a run for their money in the race for most insane diet of 2018.
The Mountain recently posted his diet plan for the upcoming World’s Strongest Man competition, and it’s INSANE.
Here’s what the post said:
