KFC is the second largest fast-food restaurant chain in the world. Since Harland Sanders founded the company in Kentucky in 1930, KFC has grown to over 18,000 stores in 118 countries around the world (only McDonald’s has more stores). In the U.S. alone, 8 million people visit KFC every single day.
With such high numbers of people enjoying the Colonel’s delicious blend of herbs & spices it’s not surprising that when KFC release new menu items, people take a keen interest. Well, here’s their latest treat.
Starting November 12th (yep, in just two-days time!) KFC will be launching their take on the classic combo of Chicken and in stores all across America. Diners will be able to enjoy the new dish in both platter and sandwich form.
KFC’s take on chicken and waffles will use their Extra Crispy Chicken, and swap out the traditional buttermilk waffle for sweet Belgian Liege-style waffles, made with a yeast-raised dough and pearl sugar to create the sweet, crunchy exterior. Never had I read so much deliciousness in one sentence.
“Our famous extra crispy, savory fried chicken atop a Belgian Liege-style waffle, with the finishing touch of classic Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup, makes for a scrumptious dish I’d put up against versions at upscale restaurants, but we’re offering it at a price just about anyone can afford,” Andrea Zahumensky, KFC’s U.S. Chief Marketing Officer, said in a press release.
“And it can be enjoyed at KFCs across the country for brunch, lunch or dinner.” Or brinner (breakfast for dinner). Or second lunch. Or fourth meal (sry Taco Bell). Or an afternoon snack.
The only slight issue with this news is that it’s a limited time offer. KFC will be running with their Chicken and Waffles up until New Years Eve so you’ve got about seven-weeks to get your hands on one.
Thanks, Colonel. We’re not worthy.
