Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a mountain of a man so it will come as no surprise that the dude can eat, a lot!
Ever since the former WWE star rocked on our screens all those years ago asking, “can you smell what The Rock is cooking?”, we’ve all wondered just what it takes to maintain his ridiculous physique. Now we know.
Turns out The Rock guzzles down more protein in a day than most of us would in a week. The Jumanji actor eats seven large meals every day. The estimated daily calorie count? 5,470 calories, according to Wolfram Alpha. Here’s the breakdown:
Meal 1 (857 calories): 10 oz. filet, 4 egg whites, 5 oz. oatmeal or Cream of Wheat
Meal 2 (947 calories): 8 oz. chicken, 2 cups white rice, 1 cup broccoli
Meal 3 (946 calories): 8 oz. halibut, 2 cups white rice, 1 cup asparagus
Meal 4 (773 calories): 8 oz. chicken, 12 oz. baked potato, 1 cup broccoli
Meal 5 (816 calories): 8 oz. halibut, 1.5 cups white rice, 1 cup asparagus
Meal 6 (846 calories): 8 oz. filet, 9 oz. baked potato, salad
Meal 7 (285 calories): 30 grams casein protein; 10 egg whites with onions, peppers, and mushrooms
The Rock, who is is 6′ 4″ and weighs 260 lbs, needs all those meals to fuel his insane workout schedule. Johnson works out 5-days a week for one hour and 15 minutes at a time.
“It’s 20-35 minutes of low-impact cardio, generally on the elliptical. It’s easier on my joints,” he explains. “And then free weights, and I rotate muscle groups.”
I have a similar workout routine…
