Gordon Ramsay’s Steak Sandwich Recipe Makes The Perfect Lunch

In my opinion, the only way to make steak even better is when it’s served between two slices of bread with delicious relish and garnishes, otherwise known as a steak sandwich. They’re fantastic for a midweek meal and as a tasty bite at any BBQ or gathering this summer.

For the ultimate sandwich we’d recommend using fillet steak. Unless you’re lucky enough to have the world’s most expensive steak or rarest steak in your fridge right now, fillet is the next best thing. The tender cut lends itself perfectly to the ultimate sandwich, but it also needs a little help from some friends.

The debate on how to cook the perfect steak is a hotly contested one. Gordon Ramsay’s way is my particular favorite, and who can forget the epic advice that the late and great Anthony Bourdain gave when it came to cooking epic steak. For the sake of the greatest steak sarnie, we’re gonna follow Gordon Ramsay.

Here’s what you do:

The best thing about steak sandwiches is they’re hugely customizable. Each of us likes their steak and garnishes in a slightly different way and this dish perfectly lends itself to variety.

The mustard mayonnaise with tomato relish approach Chef Ramsay took in this video is awesome, and would make for a killer sandwich. If those flavor combinations aren’t your thing then you can always mix it up with a beautiful garlic aioli and some sweet, crunchy caramelized onions.

So if you want to sink your teeth into one of these stunning steak sandwiches this summer, just remember that it all starts with the quality of meat. If you can get your hands on fillet beef, do it.

Why not grab a beer, put on some music and kick back this Sunday night with one of these steak beauties. Trust me when I say you won’t regret it.
