Food challenges have just hit a crazy new height with this monstrous 150-ounce steak challenge. And guess what – it’s bested every single challenge to attempt it since its inception.
So here’s the challenge: you’ve got to take down the 150-ounce steak, as well as sides of fries and onion rings in less than one hour. The steak is 12 inches long, 12 inches wide and four inches thick which means it requires a whopping two hours to cook medium rare. At approximately nine pounds, it weighs more than some newborn babies.
The Duck Inn in Redditch, Worcestershire offers to comp the full $177 (£110) price of the meal to anyone who successfully downs it all, however if you fail – like every single person has so far – then you’ve got to cough up the cash.

That’s one big chunk of meat!
An American lady recently polished off a 72-ounce steak challenge in record time, but this challenge is a whole different monster. However, for those of us without ridiculous appetites the pub also offers 80, 90, 100 and 120 ounce steaks.
The pub landlord, Ashley Gargan, decided to introduce the steaks as they’d received a few complaints about portion size. He said:
“Our steaks have always been really popular and a few of our customers asked if we could do bigger steak, so what’s what prompted us to introduce the 50, 70 and 150 ounce steaks.
The 150 is huge. People think it’s easy to complete but when faced with it, it’s a whole lot tougher than you think.”
“We’ve had a few come close but no one has managed to finish it yet.”
I don’t think I’d be able to take down that amount of meat even if it was the rarest steak in the world, but I’d be willing to give it a go.
How d’you think you’d do in the challenge?
