Time for perhaps the least surprising sentence you’ll read in 2018: Gordon Ramsay has offended a group of people. Now for the second least surprising sentence: that group of people were vegans.
It all started when a Twitter user asked the hot-headed chef for his views on her vegan lasagna. In true Ramsay style, he wasn’t afraid to speak his mind.

Enter Ramsay, with a reply that’s been retweeted 45,000 times and liked more than 151,000 times.
The celebrity chef hasn’t exactly hidden his thoughts on vegans in the past, which is probably why PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) were quick with their reply.
Ramsay has been on PETAs radar since a 2016 tweet in which he claimed he was “allergic to vegans,” a comment that obviously didn’t go down great at PETA HQ.
Ramsay has long been vocal about his pro-meat culinary style. Releasing videos demonstrating the best way to cook steak , and poking fun at plant-based diets at every opportunity.
Interestingly, his tweet seemed to generate passionate reactions from both sides. Such high numbers of retweets and likes certainly shows he has his supporters, but there was also huge amounts of backlash.
Including a second reply from PETA themselves who brought new meaning to one of Ramsay’s most famous shows, Hells Kitchen:
This latest event in the Ramsay vs. Vegan saga is unlikely to be the last. As the numbers of people turning to a plant-based diet increase, clashes such as this with devout carnivores are inevitable. Watch this space.
