McDonald’s Employee Leaps Through Drive-Thru Window To Save Policewoman’s Life

A McDonald’s employee saved the life of an off-duty policewoman after jumping through a drive-thru window when she suddenly fell unconscious.

The officer pulled up to a McDonald’s branch in Doral, Florida with her two young children in the back seat. Pedro Viloria was preparing her breakfast order when he noticed something wasn’t right, and heard the children scream, “mum, mum stop it what are you doing?”.

As she lost consciousness her foot slipped off the brake and the car began rolling forward. It was then that Pedro Viloria jumped out of the drive-thru window and managed to reach the car as it hit a curb, narrowly avoiding a car.

“In that moment, I thought, ‘I’d rather save that woman’s life,'” Mr Viloria told WPLG. “I see she’s, like, inflating her neck, like trying to breathe, like ‘ahh’ and basically I thought something was going wrong.”

Viloria was able to summon two firefighters and an off-duty paramedic who were eating breakfast. They assisted the woman before taking her to hospital, where she remains in critical condition.

A spokesperson for McDonald’s said:

“First and foremost, our thoughts and prayers are with the officer and her family during this difficult time. I think I speak for our McDonald’s family when I say how proud we are of Pedro.

He is an excellent employee, so it didn’t surprise me that he took immediate action and jumped through a window to help save this woman.”
